Hiding in Plain Sight

Werewolves are not something you can readily pick out, like albinos or others affected by something that makes them appear different from the rest of "normal" society.
Unless a werewolf makes himself known to you, in his human form, you would probably not give him a second look. But...if you observe closely you may pick up some traits such as increased nervousness on an approaching full moon, a change to eating meat more rare than before and a tendency to sniff the air on occassion.
These are small, but improtant details that could come in handy.
If they are part of a pack, there may be marks on the body or certain jewelery or clothing common to the pack members. The members will usually defer to the pack leader or alpha male when gathered in groups.
Keep your eyes open.

Origin

What is the originating location of werewolves? Many cite Transylvania, as it was in the Carpathian mountains that the legend of Count Vlad Dracul, Dracula, was born. It is true that this area has been home for lycanthropes for centuries, but it is not the origin of the species. It is in fact, the nursery of sorts.
The true origin is not revealed until book three of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Werewolf Slayer.
A hint....no, you will have to wait.

Recognition

When faced down by a werewolf that used to be a friend or loved one, DO NOT count on them recognizing you and letting you go your own way.
Once turned, the beast mind takes over, driven by a blood lust not commonly found in beasts, with one exception.
Sharks enter into a feeding frenzy when confronted by other sharks and an abundance of injured and bleeding prey.
Scientists believe that, similar to the feeding frenzy, the brain of a werewolf generates a hormonal imbalance that sends the beast into a blood lust.
You cannot override this impulse and momentary recognition, if it happens at all, will certainly evaporate in seconds and you will be attacked and killed.

Safe During the Day???

It is widely believed that a man cannot turn into a werewolf during the day. Research proves this to be true to the best of our knowledge. There are no documented cases of turnings in the daylight hours, but keep your guard up during the twilight, this may be a gray area that holds danger.

The Bite

If bitten, you will turn. You have no choice but to turn. On the next full moon, you will become a werewolf, driven to taste blood, to kill without remorse. It is up to you, what you choose to kill.
If strong enough, you will also have the power to turn into a werewolf any other night, with or without a full moon.
Only the strongest of all, or those driven to a fury of hate, can turn in the daylight hours.

Silver

Silver will kill or severly wound the werewolf, good silver that is. Use the cheap stuff and you will just piss them off. Buy, or steal the best you can get your hands on for bullets, knives, tomahawks and other implements of destruction. When it hits, get ready for some evil howling to commence.

Beware The Night

Don't be fooled into thinking that the full moon is the only time werewolves can prowl. Older and stronger werewolves can turn from human to beast on any night, but they must change on nights of the full moon.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the evening!
